To ensure that your emails are successfully delivered and do not end up in your recipients’ spam folders, it is important to keep your domain’s SPF (Wikipedia: Sender Policy Framework) record up to date. The SPF record is used to define authorized servers that are allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain and thus helps prevent misuse by unauthorized senders.
If you would like to use one of the email servers operated by crm-now GmbH for sending emails, it is necessary to extend your domain’s SPF record by adding the IP address ranges 212.42.245.128/27 and 2001:bf0:213:0:0:0:0:0/48. This step ensures that emails sent via crm-now GmbH servers are recognized as trustworthy by receiving mail servers.
Why is this change necessary?
- Avoiding spam classification: Without extending the SPF record, emails sent through crm-now GmbH servers may be identified as unauthorized and moved to the spam folder or even rejected.
- Improved deliverability: A correctly configured SPF record significantly improves the delivery rate of your emails.
- Protection against identity spoofing: Authenticating the email server prevents third parties from sending emails in your name.
How do you add the IP address range?
Please extend your existing domain SPF record with the following entries:
ip4:212.42.245.128/27 and ip6:2001:bf0:213:0:0:0:0:0/48
An example of a complete SPF record could look like this:
v=spf1 ip4:your-existing-ip-address ip4:212.42.245.128/27 ip6:2001:bf0:213:0:0:0:0:0/48 -all
If you need assistance with adjusting your SPF record, we are happy to help.
